Yeah, we're pretty sure any guy would feel the same way if put in that same situation.
Despite her past eyebrow-raising comments (which in all fairness she did indeed clarify) Shakira says the "balance of power is fairly equal" in her relationship with boyfriend Gerard Piqué."Relationships have to have a give and take if they're going to work in the long term," the Colombian beauty, who stuns on the cover of magazine's "Women of Influence" issue explains.
The "Hips Don't Lie" singer made headlines back in March after she revealed the reason behind her collaboration with Rihanna, admitting her boyfriend is to blame."He's very territorial, and since he no longer lets me do videos with men, well, I have to do them with women," Shakira told mag.
I was surprised to see that it was taken so seriously in the press.""Gerard doesn't tell me what to do," she continued.
"We discuss everything as a couple, as I imagine most partners do.
We have a beautiful relationship and one of mutual trust."The couple has one child together, a son named Milan Piqué Mebarak, whom they welcomed in January 2013 and the hitmaker reveals how motherhood has changed her."Everything is different.
Maybe the biggest change is that I think about the future more, what the world will be like for him when he grows up," she says.
"But when it comes to living, it's all about the present."As for her experience working with Rihanna for their super sexy "Can't Remember to Forget You" music video? "I'm sure on the outside it looks like two divas, but when we got together, we realized we had a lot in common—both Caribbean girls from small towns who are very down to earth when it comes down to it, and just enjoy having a good time."So does the down-to-Earth beauty still remain in touch with her Colombian roots?
"I go back a couple of times a year—not as often as I'd like with my schedule, but I still remain very identified with the culture," she says."This year, when I inaugurated my school, we also got Milan his Colombian passport. Weeks after Shakira revealed her boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, limits her from doing videos with hot men, the 37-year-old songstress admits those restrictions go both ways. " While some may view this as too territorial, it doesn't pose a problem at all for the couple."I have rules, too," coach says in a new interview. "We're one of those asphyxiating couples, smothering each other all the time," explains the stunner, who began dating the soccer pro, 27, in 2010 after they met on set of her video for "Waka, Waka". That is his job so he knows how to do that well." Shakira COMPLETELY Wrapped Around Gerard Pique's Finger, Says She's ' So Proud to Be a Wag' So how does he feel about her working alongside crew?"It's good when your man's protective of you. She does, after all, have some nice eye candy -- ah hem, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Usher. She's like the sexiest woman alive, hands down," she says. ' But with Rihanna, she's like that all the time." Luckily, Gerard approved of his wife frolicking on a bed with the Barbadian singer (and so did more than 215 million viewers)."Actually, Gerard came here his last vacation.he met the entire crew and the boys and they were all so nice to him," she tells E! "It was nice that he at least got to see a little bit of what I do when I'm away from him." Shakira, who welcomed son Milan [pictured below] with Gerard in January 2013, released the steamy video for "Can't Remember to Forget You" with Rihanna two months ago -- and says it will be pretty hard to top that collaboration. "I can be sexy, but you have to give me a count down. Rihanna & Shakira, Britney & Madonna, and 5 More Hot All Female Collaborations "I like that he protects his turf and he values me, in a way that the only person that he would ever let graze my thigh would be Rihanna," she told magazine this month.
